My Changes to Blogmas!

Hey Guys x

So, I can announce that I am taking part in Blogmas this year!

However, I'm not doing it the way I've always done it.

Normally, Blogmas is 25 days of Christmas based posts, and that's what makes Blogmas special. However, not only can I not think of 25 Christmas based posts to write, but that's not really how I want to do it this year.

I love Christmas, but there are a lot of things at Blogmas that I force myself to post about that I don't really care about, so I don't want to do it like that.

This year, my biggest passion without a doubt has been movies - filmmaking, watching movies and actors. So I'm incorporating this into Blogmas.

I'm really excited about this idea!

So, I will be posting every day for Blogmas. Actually, I'm going to be posting every single day for the entirety of December - so there will be a new post on this blog every day until 2017 which is really fun!

On certain days my Blogmas post will be a post based on Christmas, the same as everyone else who is doing Blogmas.
However, on every other day, I'm going to do a post about movies. About how they relate to me, my favourites, my favourite actors, a lot of Marvel stuff, and I'm really happy with this idea! Movies are my main passion right now, they are something that means a lot to me and I hope that you all like this idea too!

So, to make it clear, on all odd days, I'll be putting up a Christmas based post. On all even days, I'll be blogging about movies in one way or another.

    I really like the way that you're gonna do this. I think I'll be doing something similar too. Like as much as I love Christmas, it's hard to think of only Christmas posts to write every day. Looking forward to your daily blogging :)

    As a newbie to blogging I was wondering if you, or anyone else, can explain blogmas a bit more please? I get that it is based around Christmas which is exciting! But is it something most bloggers take part in? Do you post every day up until Christmas or can it be a weekly countdown? Would love to join in the festive posting so would appreciate any info :) Gemma xx

      Hi Gemma. Blogmas is basically blogging every day from December 1st until Christmas (or Christmas Eve if you choose). I think quite a few bloggers take part in it as it's something fun to do in the lead up to Christmas. You could do a countdown if you want, it's completely up to you. As you can see from my post, I'm definitely deviating from the norm this year! If you watch YouTube, it's a bit like when Vloggers do vlogmas, but while they film their lives, we post about Christmas related things usually.

Young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) tries to follow his dreams to become a respected chocolatier, despite opposition at every turn . This film was never particularly high on my 'to-watch' list, but it was always on my radar, so I'm glad I've finally seen it. I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would, but I still definitely had problems with it! Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. American Psycho | 100 Movies Bucket List

This one was a re-watch. I'd seen this film once before watching it for the Bucket List. My memories of it weren't wholly positive - I didn't love the first watch, and while I didn't hate it, it wasn't a film that I was itching to watch again. Though saying that, I knew that I probably would watch it again eventually, because I knew how much of a classic it was. Like a lot of films I've watched for the Bucket List, I liked it more this time around than I did the first time, though I still didn't love it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I did really enjoy it. The writing was great and Christian Bale was amazing in the role, as were the supporting actors. The Matrix | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch. This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about. I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it. There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me. I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!
