My 300th Post!

It feels like I've been celebrating a lot of blogging milestones recently, and here's another to add to the list!

This is my 300th Post!

I always say this, but I find that really hard to believe. I have written 300 posts. That's crazy!

Just thinking about coming up with 300 ideas to write a post about right now seems really daunting - and I've already done this! It's so weird!

When I started writing this blog, I never expected to write 300 posts. I've said this so many times before, but I expected to pick up blogging as a new hobby, get bored, and pick up something else, leaving my blog in the metaphorical wasteland of spaces on the internet that are taken but no longer occupied. But obviously this wasn't the case.

Every time something happens to me, or I become passionate about something, I write it down in my phone as a possible blog topic, and looking through my old posts, I can see the passion in my writing, which is something that makes me really happy.

I spent yesterday re-reading all of my blogmas posts from last year, and now I'm really excited to possibly do it again this year (I haven't decided if I'm doing it yet, so watch this space!)

I also can't believe that I've been blogging for so long! Next month I'll have been blogging for a year and a half, which is crazy to think about!

This blog, probably like a lot of yours, started with a single thought: "I could do that" and 17 months later, 300 posts have been written and I'm more invested in the blogging world than I've ever been before, and I'm loving every minute of it so far!

And to be honest, without all of your comments and views, I don't know if I'd still be in this place. I'd probably still be blogging, but not as much, and I'd be nowhere near 300 posts!

So thank you to everyone who follows and is reading this post! It means so much to me.

Whether you've only read this one post, or you've read all of my posts and will continue reading them for as long as I continue to write them, I really thank you so much, it means the world to me!

When ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse, he soon finds that his past is quickly catching up to him. I've never seen the original Road House, and when I put this one on I wasn't really planning to review it, but I found myself really getting into it. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Both the characters and the story were a lot more engaging and compelling than I thought they would be. The story sucked me in right from the beginning and I was interested the whole way through. The cast is great, but Jake Gyllenhaal completely carries the film and plays the character of Dalton really well. Again, I can't compare his performance to the original, but I really like the character. The fight scenes, which are pretty much what the film is about, are done really well. Wonka | Film Review

Young Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) tries to follow his dreams to become a respected chocolatier, despite opposition at every turn . This film was never particularly high on my 'to-watch' list, but it was always on my radar, so I'm glad I've finally seen it. I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would, but I still definitely had problems with it! For a start, while I love the fact that it was a musical, I didn't actually like any of the actual songs. None of them really stood out (except the one that's already known) and having only seen the film yesterday, I can't remember any of them. In fact, while the songs didn't hurt the film, I also don't feel like they were completely necessary. I would have liked the film the same amount if it hadn't been a musical. Scarface (1983) | 100 Movies Bucket List

Next up for the Bucket List was another first-time watch! I'd seen the original 1932 film years ago and really liked it, but I never got around to watching this (undoubtedly more popular) version, so I'm glad it was on the list. I really really liked this movie. I'm not sure if I like it more than, or the same as the original, but I definitely had a great time with it. One thing about finally seeing all these classic movies is seeing how much impact they've had on pop culture, and this film is definitely no exception. It's so quotable, there are so many iconic images, and it's one that everyone should watch if they haven't seen it before. The most talked-about aspect of this film is probably the violence, and that's so interesting to see. Not only the way it's spoken about, but also the difference between violence in older films like this and newer releases. My Problem With '8 Simple Rules'

Hey Guys x Today's post might come out as more of a rant, which I'm OK with because I haven't ranted about something in a while! Last year, I started watching the show '8 Simple Rules' when it started playing on Comedy Central. It originally came on between 2002 and 2005 but I didn't watch it when it was first on. Anyway, I really got into it. There were only three seasons, so it was over before I wanted it to be. And I loved this show, and I still love it. Comedy Central doesn't play it anymore but if it did I would dive right back into it because I love a good sitcom. However, I have a major gripe with a plotline of the show, that got more prominent in season 2/3. Let me just explain the characters a bit, so you know who I'm taking about in case you never watched it. The Matrix | 100 Movies Bucket List

  Next up for the Bucket List was a first-time watch. This is one that I had obviously heard of but knew next to nothing about. I found that it took a long time for me to connect with the story, and even then, while the film was interesting to watch, I never felt particularly invested in it. There were a lot of recognisable, iconic moments that I appreciated, and I get how much of an impact it had on sci-fi (and probably movies in general), but I don't know if it was for me. I somewhat enjoyed it, I understood everything that happened, but never felt connected, and didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It could just be that I need to re-watch it, and I probably will, but for a first watch, I didn't take to it as much as I wanted to. But that being said, I'm glad I finally watched it!
